Michael Terpin began SocialRadius in 2007 and has been engaged in social media marketing campaigns since 2003.  Success stories include the outreach for recording artist Will.i.am’s Yes We Can video for the Obama campaign (which won an Emmy, Webby and Clio Gold Lion) and for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! on NBC, which opened at #1 in its timeslot, and the recent, controversial Scarface School Play for Rockhard Films/Sharethrough; social media event marketing for Live8, LiveEarth, the Green Inaugural Ball and the David Lynch Foundation.  The Company has been a pioneer in generating direct-to-consumer revenue within social media campaigns for clients ranging from Philips to Affinia Hotels.

 

Terpin also founded Marketwire, one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive international press release newswires. Originally known as Internet Wire, Marketwire was acquired in April 2006 by Toronto-based media company, CCN Matthews, and is now owned by OMERS Capital Partners, the private equity arm of a $41 billion pension fund. Marketwire employs more than 200 people and has annual revenues of more than $70 million, with offices on four continents.

 

Terpin holds an MFA in Creative Writing from SUNY at Buffalo and a dual bachelor degree in Newspaper Journalism and English Literature from Syracuse University. He serves as an advisor to SU’s Newhouse School of Public Communications, where he was inducted into its prestigious Wall of Fame. Terpin was a finalist in the 2000 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

 Jeffrey Knowles manages Venable’s Government Division and heads the firm’s Advertising, Marketing and New Media Practice Group.  He is also a member of Venable's Executive Committee.  He focuses on national television advertising, direct-to-consumer marketing and e-commerce. 

 

Mr. Knowles founded and served for thirteen years as general counsel to the Electronic Retailing Association. He represents clients before the Federal Trade Commission, Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Postal Service, state attorneys general, Consumer Product Safety Commission, and self-regulatory bodies such as the Electronic Retailing Self-Regulatory Program and the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus.


Mr. Knowles is a member of the Board of Directors and a past Chairman of the Electronic Retailing Association and past Chair of the association's Government Affairs Committee.  He is also an active member of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association, the Direct Marketing Association, and the Promotion Marketing Association.  In addition, Mr. Knowles is a member of the Board of Visitors of Columbia College and a member of the Board of Trustees of the New York Law School.  He speaks and writes frequently on advertising, direct marketing and e-commerce issues.

Songpol had 5 years of experience in International Trading, primarily in Indochina, when he entered the Direct Marketing industry in 1992 before starting DRTV in 1996.


In 2004, He was elected President of the Thai Direct Marketer Association (TDMA), Asia Committee of DM Asia and Thai Office of Customer Protection Department Board Member. Some of his remarkable achievements have been composing the “Thailand Direct Selling and Direct Marketing Bill”, “Broadcasting Regulatory” and “Privacy Law”.  


Songpol, as CEO, set up TV Direct in 1999. From being purely DRTV the company expanded to become a Fully Integrated Direct Marketing organization, and now a Multichannel Marketing corporation. TV Direct is now the most significant DRTV player in the Indochina market.  


Mr. Songpol Shanmatkit graduated with a Bachelor degree in Major of Management and a Master Degree in Science of Computer Engineering Management from Assumption University of Thailand.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Scott Reid has spent the last 16 years in Japan, 15 of those years with the Oak Lawn Marketing Group. Graduating from Carleton University in Ottawa, Scott moved to Japan and soon started working at Oak Lawn Marketing’s Real-estate subsidiary, H&R Consultants, where he became President in 1997. 


In 2001 he moved to the parent company and into the DRTV industry.  He started as the Deputy Director of Oak Lawn Marketing`s Call Center, and became Director of the Internet division in 2003.  Currently Scott serves as an Operating Officer at Oak Lawn Marketing and as the Managing Director of the Brand and Sales Operations.  In addition, Scott is the President and CEO of Global Infomercial Services, Oak Lawn Marketing’s sourcing subsidiary in Chicago, USA.


Scott co-founded and currently is the President of the Tokai Japan Canada Society which fosters the strengthening of business relations between the central region of Japan and Canada.  Scott is also currently Chair of the Electronic Retailing Association`s Asia Committee.
